Steak with a brandy sauce?

I want to make a steak with a brandy sauce. I while ago I went to a steak house that made it. It was good but I want to make it myself. Another question I have is I notice online with some people some say use 2 tbsp and some say use 1/2cup of brandy, can to much of brandy be a bad thing in cooking? I would like to hear some ideas to make this dish thank you
