Views in different countries about cash bars and other wedding etiquette?

Why should someone get drunk at ur wedding at ur expense if you have a cash bar is less likely to end in tears your money is needed to start up your home and I love the idea of those south africa bbqs as I have food alergies and this would be so much easier for me as I could take some stuff I could eat with me and join in d fun without feeling left out
